Joseph Kwame Addison, popularly known as KillBeatz, is a highly acclaimed Muti-talented music producer from Ghana. He has achieved multi-platinum sales and won Grammy awards for his outstanding work. KillBeatz is not only a member of the well-known music group R2bees but also the CEO of Legacy Life Entertainment, which has signed talented Ghanaian musician King Promise. His journey in music began by playing instruments for his local church before transitioning into secular music. Initially, he started as a rapper but later found success as a proficient music producer.
The name "KillBeatz" was given to him by fellow Ghanaian rapper Omar Sterling (Paedae) from R2Bees. In the early stages of his career, KillBeatz received valuable guidance from renowned Ghanaian music producer Kaywa. With aspirations to produce his own beats, he impressed the studio manager with his keyboard skills and surpassed their current producer's abilities. This led him on a successful path in music production where many artists consistently preferred working with him.
Throughout his illustrious career, Killbeatz has collaborated with esteemed artists such as Burna Boy, Sarkodie, Not3s, Mr. Eazi, R2bees themselves, Wizkid, Ed Sheeran, and Fuse ODG among others. He showcases versatility in producing various genres including Pop, RnB, highlife, hip hop Afro-beats and Afro-pop.
In 2012 specifically marked an important milestone for KillBeatz when he made significant contributions to the emerging Azonto genre by producing captivating beats for multiple Azonto songs during its peak popularity.
His exceptional talent has been recognized multiple times at prestigious award ceremonies like winning Producer of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in 2013、2014、and 2018 respectively. Furthermore, his remarkable work can be seen on critically acclaimed tracks like "Bibia Be Ye Ye" where he received production credit alongside British singer Ed Sheeran. This song was featured on Ed Sheeran's Grammy-winning album ÷ ("Divide"), which won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 60th Grammy Awards in 2018.
